You have to subtract both sides by 64 and you will get,
-50 = 5z. Then divide both sides by 5, and you get -10 = z.

14 = 64 - 5z
(Move 5z to left by adding it's opposite to both sides)
5z + 14 = 64 - 5z + 5z
(eliminate opposites)
5z + 14 = 64
(Then move 14 to right side by adding it's opposite to both sides)
5z + 14 - 14 = 64 - 14
(Eliminate opposites)
5z = 64 - 14
(subtract numbers)
5z = 50
(divide both sides by 5)
5/5 z = 50/5
z = 10

What three-dimensional solid has 6 rectangular faces, 2 equal bases that are not rectangles, and 18 edges?
natima [27]
A hexagonal prism should work! The two bases are hexagons, and there are 6 lateral faces that are rectangles. When you count the edges, there are 18... here's an image of one (just in case)

Anne is choosing a contractor. She has narrowed down her selection to two companies and will base her decision on the likelihood
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer: Option A.

Step-by-step explanation:

The joint probability for two different things is equal to the product of the individual probabilities.

For contractor A we have:

Prob that the job is done in time  = 0.95

Prob that the job is done within the budget = 0.97

Prob of both things at the same time P = 0.95*0.97 = 0.92

For company B we have:

Prob that the job is done in time  = 0.98

Prob that the job is done within the budget = 0.93

Prob of both things at the same time P = 0.98*0.93 = 0.91

Then the best contractor is contractor A, (with a joint probability of p = 0.92) and the correct option is option A.

Consider a firm handling concessions for a sporting event. The firm’s manager needs to know whether to stock up with coffee or col
julsineya [31]

Answer: Cola is more profitable over Coffee

Step-by-step explanation:

E(cola) = 0.3 * 1500 + 0.7 * 5000

E(cola) = 450 + 3500

E(cola) = 3950

E(coffee) = 0.3 * 4000 + 0.7 * 1000

E(coffee) = 1200 + 700

E(coffee) = 1900

From the decision tree which is attached, and the calculations above, it would be advised that the firm should focus on Cola, since it has a higher expected revenue of $3950, compared to the expected revenue of $1900 for coffee.

See the attached image for the decision tree
