In the American south, fields were also worked by slaves. The plantation system required a vast number of laborers. Initially the work was done by indentured servants however as land became more scarce and black slaves were available, slavery became more prominent.
The Clayton Formation is a geologic shaping located in Providence Canyon State Park in Southwest Georgia. it is also known as Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon". The contact between the 2 layers of strata represents the different age at which each of these layers belongs. The bottom layer belongs to a period that preceded the upper layer for millions of years.
