Describe what the nearly 12.5 million African slaves experienced as they crossed the Middle Passage.

Answer:

They experienced a dreadful journey. The slaves were tightly packed into ships. There was not much fresh air to breathe and the stench was horrible. There was almost no room to move and many of the slaves wished for death. Illness was common and the white men would flog the slaves. Some were force fed and if they didn’t agree with eating, they would get whipped and cut. The African slaves had horrible experiences while crossing The Middle Passage.

The national assembly was formed on June 20, 1789 by representatives of the third estate. Toraise new taxes Louis XVI had convened the estate general on may 5 1789 at Versailles. There hadbeen no such meeting since 1614. All the three Estates were represented. Voting was to beconducted on the old principle- each estate having one vote. The third estate represented by its 600educated and prosperous members demanded voting be conducted by the assembly as a wholewhere each member would have one vote. Louis XVI's rejection of the proposal led to a walk out by the third estate. The representatives regarded themselves as spokesmen for the whole of france. On 20 June 1789, in the hall of the tennis court, members of the third estate declared themselves theNational Assembly and swore not to disperse till they had drafted a constitution for france thatwould limit the powers of the monarch.

On March 24, 1765, the British Parliament passed the Quartering Act, one of a series of measures primarily aimed at raising revenue from the British colonies in America. The act did require colonial governments to provide and pay for feeding and sheltering any troops stationed in their colony. The 1774 Quartering Act was disliked by the colonists, as it was clearly an infringement upon local authority. Yet opposition to the Quartering Act was mainly a part of opposition to the Intolerable Acts.
