Find a solution to the following system of equations -2x+5y=8 2x+2y=6

Answer 1

If you add the two equations together the xs cancel out leaving:

7y=14

y=2, using this y in 2x+2y=6 gives you:

2x+4=6

2x=2

x=1

so the solution to the system is the point (1,2)

Answer 2

1. x =1 and y =1.4
2.x=1.5 and y=1.5
just to say if this is not the answer you got then your answer is different but don't think that your answer or my answer or others answer is wrong(just because they are different) because this equation can have lot's of answer and if you don't believe me then calculate all the different answer.
