George Washington set several different examples for future presidents when he took the reigns as president. This includes:


1) Creating a presidential cabinet- This consisted of a group of advisors who helped the president make important decisions about domestic and foreign policy.


2) Two term presidency- Washington stepped down after serving 8 years as president even though he was not required to.


3) Limited the power of the federal government- He made sure to limit the power of the federal government to calm the fears of American citizens and anti-federalists who worried about an overreaching federal government.
