Food poisoning Usually results from contaminated food , parasites which spoils food, viruses , bacteria and other toxins that may be found in food if is not well preserved .

There are four steps that need to be followed to ensure food safety :

1. Cleanliness: Wash Hands, Utensils, and Surfaces Often

- Germs can result to illness and these are found everywhere around us such as in our hands , utensils ,food and cutting materials.

The appropriate way to wash hands is to use plain soap with water which means one doesn't need to use any fancy or expensive antibacterial soap. One needs to scrub between their fingers and under nails , rinse those hands with a clean dry towel.

You can't wash your hands only once a day but you must wash them as often as you can.

2.Separate: Don’t Cross Contaminate

- This means you cut use the same knife or utensils or boards for different types of food such as cutting red meat and them using the same board to cut vegetables .

3.Cook to the Right Temperature

- Food can only be safe for consumption only if it is cooked enough that I'll causing germs dies in the process of cooking . A person can use certain thermometer in order to check this temperature.

4.Chill: Refrigerate and Freeze Food Properly

- Perishable good must be kept in a fridge for certain period of time under a certain temperature, which can be measured by a thermometer. Usually the refrigerator must be at 40 degree Fahrenheit.
