A farmer needs to buy fertilizer for two fields.one field is shaped like a trapezoid, and the other is shaped like a triangle.Th

e trapezoidal field has bases that are 35 and 48 yards and a height 26 yards. The triangular field has the same height as the of field and a base of 39 yards. Each bag of fertilizer covers 150 Square yards. How many bags of fertilizer does the farmer need to buy?

Area of Trapezoid = (a + b)/2 * h
A = (35yd + 48yd)/2 * 26yd
A = 83yd/2 * 26yd
A = 41.50yd * 26yd
A = 1,079yd²

Area of Triangle = (h*b)/2
A = (26yd * 39yd)/2
A = 1,014yd²/2
A = 507yd²

Total Area = 1,079yd² + 507yd²
<span>T.A. = 1,586yd²

</span>1,586yd² ÷ 150yd² = <span>10.57 or 11 BAGS OF FERTILIZER.</span><span>The farmer needs to buy 11 bags of fertilizer.

A scale on a map shows that 1 inch = 25 miles. How many inches on the map represent 100 miles? *
Lilit [14]

Answer:

4 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Every 25 miles the map shows 1 inch
100 miles is equal to 4 x 25 miles, thus 100 miles on the map will be 4 times longer than 1 inch => 4 inches

8, 15, 14, 9, 1, 6, 3
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

The next number in the sequence will be 12.

<em><u>Explanation</u></em>

The given sequence is:   8, 15, 14, 9, 1, 6, 3

If we express these numbers in words, then we can see that the words are in alphabetical order, like....

Eight,  Fifteen,  Fourteen,  Nine,  One,  Six,  Three

There are two numbers 10 and 12 in the options which starts with letter 'T' , but  alphabetically '<u>Tw</u>elve' will be the next number after '<u>Th</u>ree'

So, the next number in the sequence will be 12.

∠A and ∠B are adjacent. The sum of their measures is 92∘. ∠A measures (2x+5)∘. ∠B is three times the size of ∠A.
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

Equation:  2x + 5 + 6x + 15 = 92

Solution:  x = 9

m∠A =23°  m∠B = 69°

Step-by-step explanation:

measure of ∠B = 3(2x + 5) = 6x + 15

The sum of the angles = 92 = 2x + 5 + 6x + 15

92 = 8x + 20

72 = 8x

x = 9

m∠A = 2(9) + 5 = 18 + 5 = 23

m∠B = 6(9) + 15 = 54 + 15 = 69

Check:  23 + 69 = 92  and 23(3) = 69

Explain how you would estimate to subtract 189 from 643
bulgar [2K]
To estimate an answer to this problem, you must first estimate the numbers as well. 189 would round to 190, and 643 would round to 640. Now you would subtract 190 from 640, giving you 460.
