The Committees of Correspondence had nothing to do with Indians or slavery. They were the first organized means of spreading information among the colonial leaders immediately before American Revolution, in opposition to Britain's political and economic policy towards the colonies. One of them, located in Boston (the earliest one) was responsible for organizing the Boston Tea Party.</span>
