The technological achievement is paper money. The Tang Dynasty used block printing for making some of the earliest know paper money. The earliest attributions to the magnetic compass are to the Han Dynasty around 200 BC. But, the magnetic compass for maritime navigation was not implemented until the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty achieved technological achievements with forms of windmills or waterwheels for irrigation.
