Psychiatrists diagnose illness whereas Psychologists focus on providing psychotherapy (talk therapy) to help patients. Psychiatrists first do a medical degree and then work as a general doctor but psychologists have at least 6 years of university training and masters or doctorate in Psychology as their main subject.
