Answer:

x = 147°

Step-by-step explanation:

A straight line equals 180°, so we know that x° + 33° = 180°. To find the measure of x, we can use subtraction.

180° - 33° = 147°

x = 147°

In the figure above, PQRS is a circle. If PQT and SRT<br>are straight lines, find the value of x.
Elena L [17]

Given:

PQRS is a circle, PQT and SRT  are straight lines.

To find:

The value of x.

Solution:

Since PQRS is a circle, PQT and SRT  are straight lines, therefore, PQRS isa cyclic quadrilateral.

We know that, sum of opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral is 180 degrees.

m\angle SPQ+m\angle QRS=180^\circ

81^\circ+m\angle QRS=180^\circ

m\angle QRS=180^\circ-81^\circ

m\angle QRS=99^\circ

Now, SRT  is a straight line.

m\angle QRT+m\angle QRS=180^\circ             (Linear pair)

m\angle QRT+99^\circ=180^\circ

m\angle QRT=180^\circ-99^\circ

m\angle QRT=81^\circ               ...(i)

According to the Exterior angle theorem, in a triangle the measure of an exterior angle is equal the sum of the opposite interior angles.

Using exterior angle theorem in triangle QRT, we get

m\angle PQR=m\angle QRT+m\angle QTR

x=81^\circ+22^\circ

x=103^\circ

Therefore, the value of x is 103 degrees.

The sum of 3 consecutive integers is 270. what is the second number in the sequence
lora16 [44]
Alright, so if the first number is x, the second number is y, and the third number is z, we have x+y+z=270. Next, since we know that x=y-1 since it is less than y by one and z=y+1, we have y-1+y+y+1=y+y+y=3y=270. Dividing both sides by 3, we get y=90

forty children from an after school club went to the matinee. this is 25% of the children at the club. how many children are in
Aleks [24]
Number of children from an after school that went to the martinee = 40
Percentage of children from an after school that went to the martinee = 25%
Let us assume the number of children in the club = x
Then
25% * x = 40
(25x/100) = 40
x/4 = 40
x = 40 * 4
   = 160
So the total number of children in the club is 160. I hope the procedure is clear enough for you to understand. you can always use this method for solving similar problems without requiring any help from outside.
