Answer:

Nominal rate of return= 7.11%

Explanation:

Inflation is the increase in the price level.It erodes the value of money.rise in the price of money

Nominal interest is that quoted for investment or loan transactions. It has not been been adjusted for inflation.

Real interest rate is the amount of interest in terms of the the quantity of good and services that can be purchased. It is the nominal interest rate adjusted for inflation.

The relationship between inflation, real interest and nominal interest rate is given using the Fishers Effect;

N = ( (1+R) × (1+F)) - 1

N- nominal rate, R-real rate, F- inflation

real rate - 2.2%, inflation - 4.8%

Nominal rate of return =(1.022)× (1.048) - 1 = 0.071056

Nominal rate of return = 0.071056 × 100 = 7.1056 %

Nominal rate of return= 7.11%

Explanation:

Frictional unemployment occurs as a result of workers' search for or transition to new jobs.  It is brief and does not leave a mark on the economy.  Structural unemployment comes about when the skills of workers do not match the requirements of employers.  Therefore, workers require retraining and reskilling.  Cyclical unemployment relates to the macro-economic situation that is prevailing during periods of recession.

An open market sale of government securities by the Federal Reserve will
inysia [295]

Answer:

C) Decrease bank reserves, decrease bank loans and decrease the money supply while raising interest rates

Explanation:

Selling by the Federal reserve of government securities is an application of contractionary monetary policy. These securities are purchased by the commercial banks which results in a reduced reserve for these banks. This reduction in reserve restricts credit creation which is the banks, ability to lend loans. When there are less loans in the market - there is a reduced money supply in the market and thus the cost of borrowing or interest rates are pushed higher because of limited money supply.

Similarly purchasing these securities will leave banks with ample money and more credit can be created thus inducing the opposite effect.

Hope that helps.
