For the first part, part a, we are given that:

0.01b^2+ ∗ +100c^2

In quadratic equations we know that the middle term (the one that is missing) will be twice the square root of the first and the last terms.

Now, we know that the square root of the first term is: \sqrt{0.01b^2} =0.1b Let us represent this by x. Therefore, x=0.1b

and the square root of the last term is: \sqrt{100c^2} =10c

Let this be y. Therefore, y=10c

Therefore, the middle term, * is: 2xy=2\times0.1b\times 10c=2bc

Likewise in the part b, we will have the middle term to be:

2\times \sqrt{25a^2} \times \sqrt{\frac{1}{4}b^2} =2\times 5a\times \frac{1}{2}b=5ab

because the first and the last terms are 25a^2 and 1/4 b^2 and we know that the middle term will be twice the square root of the first and the last terms.

Which figure represents the image of parallelogram LMNP after a reflection across the line y = x?
Taya2010 [7]
When you reflect a point across the line y = x, the x-coordinate and y-coordinate change places. This gives you such reflection rule:

From the diagram:
L(3,1), M(4,3), N(5,3) and P(4,1).
Using the reflection rule, you can find coordinates of image points:
L'(1,3), M'(3,4), N'(3,5) and P'(1,4).
As you can see, these are coordinates of vertices of the figure C.
Answer: correct choice is option 3 - figure C.

How can you use mental math to determine that 28,000 divided by 70 equals 400?
Ann [662]
Hello! First I would just look at the numbers without the zeros. So 28/7. This equals 4. Next cross out the same number of zeros on each side of the equation. In this instance, the 7 has one zero and the 28 has three so you can cross out one zero on each side. This leaves you with two zeros left over to add to the end of the 4. So you end up with 400.

I hope this helps!
