An anti-imperialist, political and cultural movement that emerged out of the protests by the students in Beijing on date 4th May 1919, is known as the May Fourth Movement. The main reason for the protest launched by the students was that the Chinese government did not responded strongly to the Treaty of Versailles, and allowed the Japanese government to hold regions in Shandong that were abandoned by Germany following the Siege of Tsingtao in the year 1914.
During the first twenty years of the twentieth century china went trough political turmoil as seen by the people of the Republic of China, themselves. It also seen by other nations the way its economy and international relations are concerned. But nevertheless, China was still able to manage their economy and being one of the big nations.
They were replaced by a group called the black and tans. Their real name was <span>Royal Irish Constabulary Special Reserve, but that was a commonly used phrase to describe them. They were a unit designed to help the local police force and provide support in fighting the IRA and extremists. </span>
