Explanation:  There are five pillars in the religion Islam. Salah (prayer), believing in Islam's testimony (the Shahadah), Sawm (fasting), Zaka (charity), and Hajj (the pilgrimage to Mecca). To perform the Hajj pillar, Muslims must visit Mecca and perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime. They do not need to travel to Mecca each year in order to follow this pillar.
