Answer:

Hence the required dimension is 4cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

An Isosceles triangle with uneven side=l+1 cm

Area= 6 sq cm

To Find:

Height of Triangle.

Solution:

We know that area of triangle given by,

Area=1/2*base*height.

Here height =1+base

6=1/2((b+1)*b

12=(b+1)*b.

b^2+b-12=0

(b-3)(b+4)=0

b=3 or b=-4

So length never be negative

so b=3 cm

And height=b+1=3+1=4 cm.

in a class of 20 students, 40% are boys. 25% of the boys and 50% of the girls wear glasses. How man students wear glasses?
statuscvo [17]
20 students.

40% are boys. (40/100)*20 = 0.4 * 20 = 8 boys.
Girls= 20 - 8 =  12 girls.

25% of the boys wear glasses. = (25/100)*8 = 0.25*8 = 2 boys wear glasses.
50% of the girls wear glasses. = (50/100)*12 = 0.50*12 = 6 girls wear glasses.

Total students that wear glasses = 2 + 6 = 8 students.
8 students wear glasses.

When working with compounded interest does doubling the time of an investment double the amount of interest earned
Olin [163]

the equation for compound interest is

A=P(1+r)^t

we will see if it doubles or not

if t=1, we get A=P(1+r)

if t=2, we get A=P(1+r)^2

2(P(1+r))=P(1+r)^2 ?

2(1+r)=(1+r)^2 ?

2+r=r^2+2r+1

etc

when r=-1.618 or 0.618, then it doubles, but not when r is different things

not always

so no, it does not always double the amount of interest earned
