The correct answer is "D.)He has no option; the verdict is final". The appeal is used against the decision of the court or when the sentence is considered too harsh. When the case is about a crime, the person is not allowed to appeal, unless the verdict is guilty. If the defendant is found not guilty, the verdict is final.
