<h2>Answer: 816 years</h2>

This problem can be solved using the <u>Radioactive Half Life Formula: </u>

<u />

A=A_{o}.2^{\frac{-t}{h}}   (1)

Where:

A=2.7g is the final amount of the material

A_{o}=10g is the initial amount of the material

t is the time elapsed  (the quantity we are asked to find)

h=432y is the half life of americium-241

Knowing this, let's find t from (1):

2.7g=(10g).2^{\frac{-t}{432y}}

\frac{2.7g}{10g}=2^{\frac{-t}{432y}}

0.27g=2^{\frac{-t}{432y}}

Applying natural logarithm in both sides:

ln(0.27g)=ln(2^{\frac{-t}{432y}})

-1.309=-\frac{t}{432y}ln(2)

-t=\frac{(-1.309)(432y)}{0.693}

<u></u>

<u>Finally:</u>

t=816y

in hostel of 40 students there is food for 30 days if 20 more students join the hostel how long will the food last
vodomira [7]

Answer:

The food will last for 20 days

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the inverse proportional is xy = k, where k is the constant of variation

∵ In a hostel of 40 students, there is food for 30 days

→ That means the food is the constant k and the number of days y

   varies inversely with the number of students x

∴ x = 40 and y = 30

∵ xy = k

∴ 40 × 30 = k

∴ 1200 = k

∴ The equation of the inverse proportional is xy = 1200

∵ 20 more students join the hostel

→ That means the number of students increased by 20

∴ The number of students in the hostel = 40 + 20

∴ The number of students in the hostel = 60

→ By using the equation above

∵ 60 × y = 1200

∴ 60y = 1200

→ Divide both sides by 60

∴ y = 20

∴ The food will last for 20 days

1. An average of 50,000 people visit Riverside Park each day in the
tiny-mole [99]
N= Number of visitors and $P = price $R = Revenue
<span>N = 50,000 - (P-15)*2500 </span>
<span>R = N*P = 50,000P -2,500P^2 + 15*2500P Answer (1) </span>
<span>R = 87,500P -2,500P^2 </span>
<span>dR/dP = 87,500 - 5000P = 0 for max </span>
<span>P = $17.50 for max revenue

18. What is the least common denominator of the following<br> fractions? 3/10 and 1/4
Len [333]

Answer:

20

The denominators of 3 /10  and  1 /4  are 10  and  4.

The factors of  10  are  2 × 5  and  2 × 2

Therfore the LCD should have two 2's and one 5.

This means the answer is:

2 × 2 × 5 = <u>20</u>

I hope this helps :)
