Y = 3x - 7...slope here is 3 and y int is -7

3x + 9y = 9
9y = -3x + 9
y = -1/3x + 1....slope here is -1/3 and y int is 1

the slopes 3 and -1/3 are negative reciprocals of each other...therefore, ur lines are perpendicular

Answer:

The lines are perpendicular because perpendicular lines have slopes that are opposite reciprocals. To compare the slopes, you can rewrite the second equation in slope-intercept form as y = (–1/3)x + 1. The slope of the given line is 3, and the slope of the second line is –1/3. These have a product of –1, which means they are opposite reciprocals. Thus, the two lines are perpendicular.

Let f be a differentiable function such that f(3) = 2.345 and f' (x) = ln (x^2+ 1). What is the value of f (5)?
Rudik [331]

Use a linear approximation to f(x) centered at x=3:

f(x)\approx f(3) + f'(3)(x-3)

Then

f(5)\approx2.345+\ln(3^2+1)(5-3)\approx6.95

which makes C the most likely choice.

I need help with my homework
Nimfa-mama [501]
The shaded squares are positive because a negative number multiplied or divided by a negative number makes the product or quotient positive. There is no specific rule that comes to mind, but if your teacher has provided a list of specific rules I would look for something mentioning negative numbers.

The sum of 3 consecutive integral numbers is 117. find the numbers.
Anton [14]
An integral number is just a whole number. Consecutive means they are neighbouring in the number line(e.g. 2,3,4). Let the smallest number be x:

x + (x+1) + (x+2) = 3x + 3 = 117

3x = 114

x = 38

Hence the numbers are 38, 39, 40
