Answer: 0.1122

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A denotes the event that it snows in Greenland.

Then A' denotes the event that it does not snow in Greenland.

Let G be the event that glaciers grows.

Given : Suppose that it snows in Greenland an average of once every 27 days.

i.e. P(A)=\dfrac{1}{27}

Then, P(A')=1-P(A)=\dfrac{26}{27}

Also, P(G|A)=0.23 and P(G|A')=0.07

By Bayes theorem , we have

P(A|G)=\dfrac{P(G|A)P(A)}{P(G|A)P(A)+P(G|A')P(A')}\\\\

=\dfrac{0.23\cdot\dfrac{1}{27}}{0.23\cdot\dfrac{1}{27} + 0.07\cdot\dfrac{26}{27}}\\\\=\dfrac{0.0085185}{0.0759259}\\\\=0.112195\approx0.1122

Hence, the probability that it is snowing in Greenland when glaciers are growing= 0.1122

How do I start This?
pav-90 [236]
\bf \begin{array}{lccclll}
&\stackrel{lbs}{amount}&\stackrel{unit}{cost}&\stackrel{total}{value}\\
&------&------&------\\
Raisins&11&2.30&25.3\\
Peanuts&p&4.50&4.5p\\
------&------&------&------\\
mixture&m&3.29&3.29m
\end{array}

we know that, the mixture amount is the sum of 11 + p, or 11 + p = m.

we also know that, the total value is also a sum of 25.3 + 4.5p = 3.29m.

\bf \begin{cases}
11+p=\boxed{m}\\
25.3+4.5p=3.29m\\
----------\\
25.3+4.5p=3.29\left( \boxed{11+p} \right)
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
25.3+4.5p=36.19+3.29p\implies 1.21p=10.89\implies p=\cfrac{10.89}{1.21}
\\\\\\
p=\stackrel{lbs}{9}
