Answer:

The y-intercept is y = -$150

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that:

Each necklace is sold for $8.

The total cost for Michelle is $150.

The profit equation is:

Profit = Revenue - Cost.

We already know that Cost = $150

The revenue will depend on x, the number of necklaces sold, so if each one costs $8, and she sells x of them, the revenue is:

Revenue = $8*x

Then the profit, as a function of x, is:

y = P(x) = $8*x - $150

Where y represents the profit.

Now we want to find the y-intercept of the profit equation, where the y-intercept is the y-value when we use x = 0

Then the y-intercept is:

P(0) = $8*0 - $150 = -$150

Also the graph of the equation can be seen below, where you need to remember that x can be any value in [0, 200] and only can be an integer.

So you only need to graph the line between x = 0 and x = 200.

Braydon is performing the four arithmetic operations on 14 and 2.
Studentka2010 [4]
Well, let's just solve all these darn operations!

14 + 2 = 16
14 - 2 = 12
14 * 2 = 28
14 / 2 = 7

So, what do you think the answer is? =)

Solve the following system of equations:
4x+5y=23
-3x-7y=-14
Korvikt [17]
Basically you're solving for both variables here.
I prefer elimination method so that is what I used.
I started off by multiplying each equation in order to get one of the variables at the same value so it would be possible to cancel it out.
Multiplying the first equation by 3 gave me,
12x + 15y = 69
Then I multiplied the second equation by 4,
-12x + 28y = -56
As you can see, it's not possible to cancel out the x variable.
12x + 15y = 69
+(-12x + 28y = -56)
_____________
13y = 13
Then just solve for y which gives you -1.
After you have one variable solved simply insert it into one of the original equations to find the other variable.
4x + 5(-1) = 23
4x - 5 = 23
4x = 28
x = 7.
And there you have it! Hope this helped!
