Unemployment exists for several reasons. Cyclical unemployment is associated with changes in the economic cycle. This means that in times of expansion of capitalism people are hired and in times of crisis become unemployed. Seasonal unemployment has to do with city changes and they are natural until the person resets. Frictional unemployment is the period in which a person moves from one job to another. Finally, structural unemployment is a major problem. This is the replacement of man by machine, by automation.
