Help with homework in the picture above plz

1- Les voleurs étaient arrivés (masc. plur.)

2- Le député avait déjà perdu  (masc. sing.)

3- Je en comprenais pas la nouvelle loi que le président avait votée.(fem.sing.)

4- Les activistes s'étaient téléphoné pour organiser la marche.(verbe pronominal... no agreement)

EXPLANATION

I underlined in the text above the nouns with which the past participles agree

1- "être" + participe passé ► agrees with the subject

2- "avoir"+ p. passé  ► no agreement

3- "avoir" + p. passé ►agrees with the Direct Object "la nouvelle loi" because it is before the verb.

4- "être" + p. passé ► no agreement because "se téléphoner" is a "pronominal verb"... so it follows the rule of "avoir" => agree only with the D.O. if before the verb
