onnie is doing the office coffee run one morning. There are two coffee machines in the building: one from STACO and one from TRU

CKBASS. They dispense two types of coffee: black (no milk) and white (with milk). The machines are both rather temperamental. Every fourth coffee dispensed from STACO is black and the rest are white. The coffees dispensed from TRUCKBASS are alternately black and white. Lonnie visited one of the machines and bought some coffees, of which three turned out to be white. He went back to the same machine for the afternoon run and bought the same number of coffees again. What are the possible numbers of white coffees that Lonnie could have received this time?

Lonnie visited one of the machines and bought some coffees, of which three turned out to be white. That means Lonnie used STACO machine which pattern is giving 3 white every 1 black coffees.
He went back to the same machine for the afternoon and take another 3 coffees. Since the machine created 3 white in the morning, it should make 1 black coffee in the first run. The 2nd and 3rd run would give white coffee.

So, Lonnie will have 2 white coffee.

What is the value of x? assume that the line is tangent to the circle
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

70°

Step-by-step explanation:

Connect the center of the circle with endpoints of the chord. Let the center of the circle be point O and endpoints of the chord be points A (let point A lie on the tangent line too)and B.

From the figure, central angle AOB has the measure of 220°.

Consider triangle AOB. This triangle is isosceles triangle because OA and OB are both radii. In this triangle the measure of angle AOB is 360° - 220° = 140°.

Angles OAB and OBA are angles adjacent to the base AB, so they are congruent. The sum of the measures of all interior angles in triangle is always 180°, so

m∠OAB + m∠OBA + m∠AOB = 180°

m∠OAB = m∠OBA = 1/2 (180° - 140°)

m∠OAB = 20°

Since drawn line is tangent line, then OA is perpendicular to this tangent line and

x° = 90° - 20°

x° = 70°

Prove:1/sin²A-1/tan²A=1
Anit [1.1K]

Step-by-step explanation:

1/sin^2A -cos^2A/sin^2 A. ~tan = sin/cos

(1-cos^2)/sin^2A. ~ take lcm

sin^2A/sin^ A. ~ 1-cos^2A = sin^2A

Cot^2x csc^2x + 2 csc^2x –cot^2 = 2
kow [346]

Answer:

x = π/2 + πk

Step-by-step explanation:

cot² x csc² x + 2 csc² x − cot² x = 2

Multiply both sides by sin² x:

cot² x + 2 − cos² x = 2 sin² x

Add cos² x to both sides:

cot² x + 2 = 2 sin² x + cos² x

Pythagorean identity:

cot² x + 2 = sin² x + 1

Subtract 1 from both sides:

cot² x + 1 = sin² x

Pythagorean identity:

csc² x = sin² x

Multiply both sides by sin² x:

1 = sin⁴ x

Take the fourth root:

sin x = ±1

Solve for x:

x = π/2 + 2πk, 3π/2 + 2πk

Which simplifies to:

x = π/2 + πk
