Because everyone is always driving above the speed limit, the police implement a new policy: ticket anyone who drives 1.5 standa

rd deviations above the average. At a major freeway, the average speed in the evening is 75 MPH. The standard deviation is 7 MPH. Michael finds himself driving at 84 MPH during an evening on this freeway. At a major street, the average speed is 43 MPH. The standard deviation is 4 MPH. Nico finds himself driving at 50 MPH. Use the information above to determine who will get a speeding ticket?

Answer:

Michael is within the speed limit regulation he won´t get any ticket

Nico is over speed limit then he should be ticket

Step-by-step explanation:

Case A conditions in a freeway evening  average speed 75 MPH the

standard deviation is 7 MPH

Then according to new policy 75 + 7* ( 1,5 )  = 75 + 10,5 = 85,5 MPH

Michael is driving at 84 MPH then he has no problem at all

Case B conditions in a major street average speed 43 MPH the standard deviation is 4 MPH

According to the new policy 43 + 4 *(1,5) = 43 + 6 = 49 MPH

Nico is driving at 50 MPH then Nico will be ticket

Vera is an ecologist who studies the change in the bear population of Siberia over time. The relationship between the elapsed ti
rewona [7]

Answer:

  • <em>Every year, the bear population</em><u><em>    shrinks    </em></u><em>by a factor of</em><u><em>    2/3   </em></u>.

Explanation:

The concrete question and the function or data were omitted.

I found the complete question on the internet. Please, find attached the picture with the complete question

You must complete the  sentence about the yearly rate of change of the bear population, telling whether it grows or shrinks and by what factor.

Thus, the goal is to interpret the rate of change in an exponential model.

The exponential model is:

       N(t)=2187\cdot \bigg(\dfrac{2}{3}\bigg)^t

Let's analyze that function.

When t = 0, (2/3)⁰ = 1 and N(0) = 2,187 × 1 = 2,187

Thus, the population of bears starts with 2,187 individuals.

For t = 1, the population will be N(1) = 2,187 × (2/3).

For t = 2, the population will be N(2) = 2,187 × (2/3)²

And so on, every year the population of bears is multiplied by a factor of 2/3.

Since, 2/3 is less than 1, every year the population will be decreasing (decaying), by a factor of 2/3.

Thus, the answer, i.e. the complete sentence, is:

Every year, the bear population<u><em>    shrinks    </em></u>by a factor of<u><em>    2/3   </em></u>.

#1: Jim, Jane, Ann, and Bill measure an object’s length, density, mass, and volume, respectively. Which student’s measurement mi
il63 [147K]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

Ques 1)

The student whose measurement might be in centimeters is:

                         Jim

Ques 2)

                 C.   5,000

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

Ques 1)

We know that the standard unit centimeters or meters is used to represent the length of some object.

Here Jim measured an object's length.

Hence, he would represent his measurement in centimeters.

Ques 2)

We know that  1 m=100 cm

and 1 km=1000 m

Hence,

1 km=100000 cm

Hence,

0.05 km=0.05×100000 cm

Hence, we have:

0.05 km=5000 cm.

Hence, the correct answer is: Option: C
