Rainstorms provide natural moisture to the environment. Receiving rain will keep plant life healthy, give animals a natural reservoir to drink from, as well as keeping the life in the river healthy. Though a flash flood may cause damage to buildings and habitats at first, buildings can be fixed and over time, wild flora and fauna will return to the area, often more plentiful, is there is a good amount of moisture <span />

Which of the following was a contributing factor to the spread of the Depression around the world?
anzhelika [568]

Germany ceased reparation payments

Germany was hard-hit by the great depression. One major factor was the treaty of Versailles. This treaty was required to settle outstanding disputes following cessation of hostilities in WW1. The allies allowed their desire for revenge to get the better part of them and that the terms dictated to Germany were not necessary debilitating. However, Germany ceased from the huge burden of reparations payments which were required as a condition of the treaty and this caused the spread of the Great Depression around the world.

How long can otters survive without water?
Musya8 [376]

Around 3,000 sea otters live in southern waters at this time. The California population is regarded as threatened because it has a constrained geographic range and lives close to habitation. Otters don't have a lot of body fat, but their fur is quite dense. This implies that they are susceptible to cold readily, particularly in water. They can transfer body heat and keep each other warm by sleeping snuggled together and holding hands. Whatever the motivation, it is undeniable that otters adore cuddling.

In the wild, they have a lifespan of eight to nine years, but in captivity, they have reached 21 years of age. River otters in North America were heavily pursued for their fur in the 19th and 20th centuries, and some regions still practice hunting today. Despite changing climatic conditions, whales, dolphins, seals, and other marine mammals can produce their own heat and maintain a constant body temperature. They are endothermic homeotherms, also known as "warm-blooded" animals, just as humans. Fur or blubber on marine creatures provides excellent insulation as well. The sea otter possesses the densest hair of any mammal that is known to exist, with 130,000 hairs to every square centimeter of skin. Fur traps air, a good insulator, and does so most effectively when it is dry.

Two ways in which the local government can manage water supply in case of high evaporation rates
rjkz [21]
In the case of high evaporation rates, the local government can manage water supply by scheduling a rotating water outage. The outage can be set to the hours when the evaporation rate is the highest. This will allow the citizens to save up water and use it wisely.
