The Duma was the elected Parliament for Russia. It was created to appease Russians but was never well received by the monarchy. Many battles were fought between the monarch and the Duma. Eventually the Duma speaking for the people, asked Nicholas II to give up his throne. This act ended the monarchy in Russia.
2. The French people unseated the monarch Charles X.
Radicals in France wanted to return France to a representative government with elections. Riots broke out in France and could not be controlled until Charles gave up his position as king. Charles, fearing for his life, escaped to England. Louis-Philippe took over as the leader of France being proclaimed a king but one more representative of the citizens.

The July Revolution is also known as the July
Days, where protests and demonstrations were rampant on the streets of France. The
French people dethroned the monarch of Charles X during the July Revolution of
1830. The revolt was caused by Charles X’s publications of ordinances. Charles
X ordered to dissolve the Chamber of Deputies. He even suspended freedom of the
press, modified electoral laws, and called forth a premature election.
<span>Charles X was removed from the throne on July 29,
1830, three days after the royal forces failed to contain the insurrections. The revolution brought Louise-Philippe to the throne of France. </span>
Popular sovereignty is government based on consent of the people. The government's source of authority is the people, and its power is not legitimate if it disregards the will of the people. Government established by free choice of the people is expected to serve the people, who have sovereignty, or supreme power.
