I'm pretty sure grendel doesn't talk and he attacks hrothgar just for the sake of killing. But the closest thing might be D because He's his father so technically he did make grendel a monster

1. bc to his mother, he was the bad one. he wasnt even worth being called a child.

2. she layed on the couch all day watching tv, in her bathrobe, drinking.

3. david could determine what kind of day he was going to have by the way his mother dressed.

4. the mirror treatment was when david's mother would punish him by smearing his face against the mirror and then forced him to stand there and repeat 'im a bad boy' over and over again.

5. when davids father was home, his mother would fix her hair and put on nice clothes. she would be completely different. she would be nice to david.

6. david followed his father around because he saw him as his 'protector'. he saw him that way bc whenever his father was around, his mother would be nice and he wouldnt get abused.

7. his mother was drunk, and she ran at him and started hitting him. david put his arm up, and she grabbed it. as she did this, she lost her balance and pulled his arm the wrong way. it popped and after that david couldnt move it and it was very painful. i believe it was probably broken or fractured.

8. mother told the doctor and david's father that david had fallen off the top bunk.

9. with no warning, david was dropped off at his aunts house during the summer. he felt so sad that he tried to run back to his family. even tho david's mother abused him, he still craved her love.

10. stan and david were best friends at school, but at home stan wouldnt even acknowledge david. they both knew that if he did, someone would pay the consequences.

11. david's parents fought abt a lot of things, most of the time tho, they fought abt him.

12. david's mother was angry that bc she saw ddavid playing in the grass with other boys at school. she stripped him and turned on the gas stove. then she told david she had heard abt a mother who had made her son lie on top of a gas stove. then she pushed him towards it and burned his arm. she told him to get on top, but david wouldnt. before she could get him too tho, ron (davids brother) came home.

13. after the stove incident, david realized that he could beat his mother. he had won that time, mother didnt get him to lie on the stove. this gave david hope.
