Answer:

B. An Italian Sonnet

Explanation:

It's a Petrarchan sonnet (Italian Sonnet). The octave almost always has a the rhyme scheme ABBAABBA. The sestet varies way more than the first eight lines of a Petrarchan sonnet, though (some examples: CDECDE, CDCDCD, CDDECE). <em>How Soon Hath Time</em>'s sestet follows a CDEDCE rhyme scheme!

In the poem, the speaker explores what might happen to dreams that are postponed. What do you think could make someone postpone
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer and Explanation:

What do you think could make someone postpone their dreams?

There are several reasons that could make someone postpone their dreams. One of them is lack of money to pursue it. For instance, financial difficulties may lead someone to give up their education. Another reason is fear of failing. People may be so scared of trying and not succeeding that they may end up not trying at all. One more reason we can list is prejudice, whichever kind it may be. If someone faces prejudice wherever they go, things are harder for them. It could be discouraging and eventually tire them out and make them give up.

What do you think Langston Hughes would say to someone who was thinking about putting off their dreams?

As an important African American author of the Harlem Renaissance, I believe Hughes would try his best to motivate that person. He would tell them to keep on going, to keep on fighting, to find solutions. Deferring one's dreams is grave and sad; it is like being dead even though one is alive.
