The answer is:

 1. where: Place.
 2. as soon as: Time.
 3. because: Reason.
 4. If: Condition.
 5. so (that): Purpose.
 6. than: Comparison.

Subordinating conjunctions join two clauses, a main one (or independent clause, which can stand on its own) and a subordinate clause (or dependent, which does not indicate a complete thought on its own). They also provide a trasition between the two clauses in order to express time, place, or cause and effect.

Motives (a motif)

A motif is a short musical phrase that repeats or reoccurs inside a composition that usually has some sort of importance to the theme or overall meaning of the piece. It's the smallest unit that still contributes to the theme of a composition.
