3 3/4 lb of candy costs $ 20.25

we have been given a mixed fraction with both whole number and fraction

so lets convert it an improper fraction

3 3/4

3 wholes are equivalent to 3*\frac{4}{4} = \frac{12}{4}

then 3 3/4 is - \frac{12}{4} + \frac{3}{4} = \frac{15}{4}

so 15/4 lbs -- $ 20.25

then 1 lb is -- \frac{20.25}{15/4} = \frac{20.25*4}{15} = \frac{81}{15} = 5.4

therefore 1 lb is equal to $ 5.40

let f(x)=ab^x

when x=1,f(x)=6

6=ab

when x=2,f(x)=18

18=ab^2

divide

\frac{ab^2}{ab}=\frac{18}{6}\\b=3\\ab=6\\3a=6\\a=2\\f(x)=2(3)^x

Use the distributive property to write an expression that is equivalent to:<br> 3(x + 5)
lisov135 [29]

Answer: 3x + 15

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to use the distributive property, you simply multiply the number on the outside by both the number inside the parenthesis

So, in this case, we would multiply 3 by X and 3 by 5

3 times x = 3x

3 times 5 =15

Your new equation is then made by adding these two together

3x+15

Answer 3x + 15

tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
When two polynomials are multiplied, each term of the first polynomial is multiplied by each term of the second polynomial. ... The result is always a polynomial, regardless what the coefficients might be of any of the terms, including the leading coefficients.
