Remark

Before you do anything else, read what she did. She opened the refrigerator door slightly. What would you expect to happen especially on a summer day?

Would you expect the temperature to go up? Warm air is heating up the refrigerator in side and the graph shows the temperature increasing. Is it a straight line or is it something else? It looks like it is increasing to start with and it is non linear.

Now she closes the door and refrigerator begins to cool down. The trip down is a straight line (linear). When that happens, you get your answer for this part of the graph, down and linear.

So the complete answer is door open, temperature rises and is non linear.

The door closes and the temperature falls and the line of the graph is linear.

A rectangular flower garden has area 32 square feet. if the width of the garden is 4 feet less than the length, what is the peri
KengaRu [80]
To determine the perimeter of the rectangular flower garden, we need to know the measurement of the sides of the rectangle so we have to know the length and the width. The given measurements are the area, and the relation of the width and the length. From these, we generate equations to calculate the width and the length. We do as follows:

Area = Length x Width

where length = x ft
           width = x - 4 ft
           area = 32 ft^2

32 = x (x -4)
32 = x^2 - 4x

Solving for the positive value of x,

x = 8 ft = length
width = x -4 = 8 - 4 = 4 ft

Perimeter = 2(length) + 2(width) = 2(8) + 2(4) = 24 ft

suppose the farmer buys another 1/2 square mile of land and divides all his land into square fields 1/4 mile long and 1/4 mile w
gtnhenbr [62]
To answer this question, you need to find the area of the divided land that the farmer want. Since it was a square with 1/4 mile length then the area would be:
1/4 mile * 1/4 mile= 1/16 miles square.

Then you can divide the total area of land the farmer buys, with the area of divided land. The calculation would be: (1/2 square miles) / (1/16 square miles)= 16/2=8 pieces of field

I need help on this question (^~^;)ゞ
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

21) x = 0

23) x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

In a parallelogram, the opposite sides are congruent. Using this fact, we can create equations for both problems.

21)

2x + 18 = 18

Subtract 18.

2x = 0

Divide by 2.

x = 0

23)

2x - 3 = 11

Add 3.

2x = 14

Divide by 2.

x = 7

Answer:  angle B = 47 degrees

========================================

Work Shown:

Use law of cosines to find angle B

b^2 = a^2 + c^2 - 2*a*c*cos(B)

9^2 = 6^2 + 12^2 - 2*6*12*cos(B)

81 = 36 + 144 - 144*cos(B)

81 = 180 - 144*cos(B)

81 - 180  = -144*cos(B)

-99  = -144*cos(B)

-144*cos(B) = -99

cos(B) = (-99)/(-144)

cos(B) = 0.6875

B = arccos(0.6875)

B = 46.5674634422102

B = 47 when rounding to the nearest whole number

Make sure your calculator is in degree mode.

arccos is the same as inverse cosine often labeled \cos^{-1} on calculators.
