opening the bracket will give

-10x + 18 = 10x +4

collect the like terms

18 - 4 = 10x +10x

14 = 20x

x=20/14

The waiting times between a subway departure schedule and the arrival of a passenger are uniformly distributed between 0 and 8 m
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

0.59375

Step-by-step explanation:

In a uniform distribution the probability that the time t is greater than any given value, X, is:

P(t\geq X)=1-\frac{X}{b-a}

In this problem, the limits of the distribution are a = 0 and b = 8 minutes.

For X =3.25 minutes:

P(t\geq 3.25)=1-\frac{3.25}{8-0} \\P(t\geq 3.25)=0.59375

The probability that a randomly selected passenger has a waiting time greater than 3.25 minutes is 0.59375.

Given the range of the function, find the corresponding domain. f(x) = 4x - 1 Range: {3, 7, 11, 15}
g100num [7]
The range is the output value or the y value.
You would work backwards to find the domain.

f(x) = 4x - 1                              f(x) = 4x - 1
3 = 4x - 1                                    7 = 4x - 1
add 1 to both sides                    add 1 to both sides
4 = 4x                                            8 = 4x
divide both sides by 4              divide both sides by 4
x = 1                                              x = 2

f(x) = 4x - 1                                  f(x) = 4x - 1
11 = 4x - 1                                      15 = 4x - 1
add 1 to both sides                      add 1 to both sides
12 = 4x                                              16 = 4x
divide both sides by 4                  divide both sides by 4
x = 3                                                    x = 4
Domain { 1, 2, 3, 4}
