Which word best describes the mood created by these lines from "The Cop and the Anthem" by O. Henry? Through one violet-stained

window a soft light glowed, where, no doubt, the organist loitered over the keys, making sure of his mastery of the coming Sabbath anthem. For there drifted out to Soapy's ears sweet music that caught and held him transfixed against the convolutions of the iron fence. The moon was above, lustrous and serene; vehicles and pedestrians were few ... expectant morose reverent empty

There's quite a few words, but my best guess would be serene. Try that!

HELP WILL GIVE BRAINIEST AND 20 POINTS!!! EXPLAIN THROUGHLY someone in your class invites you to a party that you know won't hav
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

I feel like you should tell you aunt, so if something happens, you could have some adult to get help from. It kinda depends what kind of party it is. If its with  people older than you and if guys are gonna be there and its one of those drink and smoke and crazy parties, for your own self-respect, safety, and worth, its better not to go. (your not gonna miss anything anyways) Its better to just have a party between people you can trust and such. The parental supervision isnt needed for EVERY party. MOST parties dont have parents literally watching u like a hawk. But it just depends whos going to be there, what they are planning to do and if you think its going to be safe.

Explanation:

Ive made a mistake of going to a unsupervised party a while ago, and i regret it. Just make sure you stay distant from suspicious activity and just be paranoid and cautious of whats around u. OVERALL I THINK U SHOULD GO AND HAVE SOME FUNNNNN HAHA YOLO. (but stick with ur friends) :)

spin [16.1K]

The stockholders agreed to finance the Pilgrims voyage by

•selling additional stocks

•giving ships for the journey

Thomas Weston was the owner of an iron company. He had the idea of selling shares to finance the Mayflower, the ship that would transport the settlers to the new world. With this, He would guarantee that he would have profits from the settlers once they arrive to the new world. They would have to pay back with fur, fish or any other product that would guarantee the returning of the investment.
