Mathematics

I get 16-i^2... So you basically distribute everything.
So first, you'd do -4(-4-i) which gets you 16+4i
Next, you do i(-4-i) which gets you -4i-i^2
When you add like terms, (-4i+4i), you're left with 16-i^2.
So 16-i^2 would be your answer.

Which expression is equivalent to (4 x cubed) (2 x) Superscript negative 4? StartFraction 1 Over 4 x EndFraction StartFraction 4
evablogger [386]

Option c: \frac{1}{4 x}

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression is (4x^{3})(2x)^{-4}

Applying the exponent rule, we have,

\frac{4x^{3} }{(2x)^{4} }

Multiplying the denominator,

\frac{4x^{3} }{2^{4} x^{4} }

Rewriting this expression,

\frac{4x^{3} }{16 x^{4} }

Cancelling the common terms, we have,

\frac{1 }{4x }

Thus, the expression equivalent to (4x^{3})(2x)^{-4} is \frac{1 }{4x }

(HELP FOR 50 POINTS)
GrogVix [38]

y = 10x + 5 is the required equation.

Explanation:

A family of two to go to state fair is $25

A family of six to go to state fair is $65

So the 2 points are (2,25) and (6,65)

Rate of change = (y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

 Plugin the values, we will get,

                          = (65 - 25)/ (6-2)= 40/4 = 10

Equation can be written as,

(y - y₁) / (y₂ - y₁) = (x-x₁)/(x₂-x₁)

(y-25)/(65-25) = (x-2)/(6-2)

(y-25)/ 40 = (x-2) / 4

4(y-25) = 40(x-2)

4y - 100 = 40x - 80

4y = 40x - 80 + 100

4y = 40x + 20

Dividing the equation by 4, we will get,

y = 10x + 5 is the equation required.

A group of people were asked if they had run a red light in the last year. 385 responded "yes", and 472 responded "no".
Dimas [21]

Answer:

44.9%

Step-by-step explanation:

you can find the probability by dividing the total number of people by the number of people who have run a red light:

385/857

simplify into a decimal:

0.449

convert into a percent to get your answer:

44.9%

The base of a parallelogram is 6 ft more than the height. If the area of the parallelogram is 55 ft^2, what are the measures of
lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

Height = 5 ft

Base = 11 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a parallelogram is

Base × Height

From the question:

The base of a parallelogram is 6 ft more than the height.

Base = 6ft + h

If the area of the parallelogram is 55 ft^2,

what are the measures of the base and the height?

This is calculated as:

55 ft² =( 6 + h ) × h

55 = 6h + h²

h² + 6h - 55 = 0

h² +5h - 11h - 55 = 0

h(h + 5) - 11(h + 5) = 0

(h + 5)(h - 11) = 0

h - 11 = 0

height = 5ft

Base = 6 + h = 6 + 5

Base = 11ft
