In the last section of the passage, the text states:
<em>"If ever you disturb our streets again</em>
<em>Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."</em>
This is written as a threat. It claims that if the Capulets and the Montagues ever destroy the peace of Verona again (<em>the forfeit of the peace</em>) they will have to pay by death (<em>your lives shall pay</em>).
