<h3><u><em>Word War I came to a close due to Armistice Day. This was the day Germany signed an armistice (an agreement for peace) which caused the fighting to stop. Even though the war had ended, it still had effects on others. The war changed the economical balance of the world, leaving European countries deep in debt and making the U.S. the leading industrial power and creditor in the world. The war made life harder for a lot of families and people.</em></u></h3>
