Which statements describe the endocrine system? Check all that apply.
Anarel [89]

The following statements describe the endocrine system:

1. It helps regulate mood- The endocrine system regulates the release of hormones and

neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and cortisol in human bodies. These hormones and

neurotransmitters secreted by the endocrine system in turn affect our mood by

increasing or decreasing levels of happiness, rewarding seeking behavior, stress, etc.

2. It helps regulate reproductive processes- The endocrine system consists of reproductive glands in males and females. In females, the hormones estrogen and progesterone secreted by reproductive glands (ovaries) regulate menstrual cycles, egg fertilization and reproduction. Whereas, in males, reproductive glands (testes) regulate sex hormones, such as testosterone, sexual arousal and sperm count.

3. It helps regulate growth and development- The hormone known as human growth hormone (HGH) is released by the endocrine system. HGH is responsible for growth, an individual's height and development of the physical body, especially during childhood and up to early adulthood. HGH is also responsible for cell reproduction and regeneration in humans.

4. It secretes hormones into the bloodstream- The endocrine system functions primarily by releasing hormones in the bloodstream. The endocrine system consists of various glands around the body, that have their own respective functions. Each of these glands secrete different hormones in the bloodstream. The different glands that comprise the endocrine system in human bodies include: the hypothalamus (in the brain), pituitary glands, thyroid gland, parathyroids, adrenal glands, reproductive glands and pancreas.

VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

For example, TH2 cells directly stimulate B cells to class switch, producing immunoglobulin isotype IgE, which is useful in targeting parasitic worms.

Explanation:

Immunoglobulin E, or IgE, is a protein present in low blood concentrations that is usually found on the surface of some blood cells, especially basophils and mast cells, for example.

Because it is present on the surface of basophils and mast cells, which are cells that normally appear in higher blood concentrations during allergic reactions, IgE is usually related to allergies; however, its concentration may also be increased in blood due to diseases caused by parasites. and chronic diseases, such as asthma, for example. This is because TH2 cells directly stimulate B cells for class switching, producing the IgE isotype of immunoglobulin, which is useful in targeting parasitic worms.
