After the Scientific Revolution the Industrial Revolution began in Britain and spread globally. Steam engines, improved cotton mills and the railroads were built during this time. The main energy source to power these new innovations was coal. The effect of the soot from the industries polluted the environment. As the Industrial Revolution spread the more greenhouse emissions are being released into the atmosphere and harms the ozone layer.
