Hello.

Goal: Identify the italicized word

Sentence: (May) I go to the library?

Kind of sentence: interrogative.

Italicized word: May.

May is a modal verb: a type of verb that is used to indicate modality – that is: likelihood, ability, permission, request, capacity, suggestions, order and obligation, and advice etc. In this case, due to the kind of sentence, may acts like and auxiliary verb.

An auxiliary verb is a verb used in forming the tenses, moods, and voices of other verbs. May, in this case, indicates modality and permission.

Hope it helps you.

The italics aren't showing up here, but assuming that it is the word "May" that is in question, the answer would be "interrogative". This is generally true whenever a question is used.

Can someone please explain how to write a sonnet?????
TiliK225 [7]

Explanation:

I'm pretty sure when there talking about the letters such as abba, cdc ect, there talking about rhyming so for the sentence "the frog sits on the log" it would be aa, basically if the rhyming words go bread duck head truck, in a sentence the first rhyming word would be a and the second would be b, so u would say it's abab, I hope that makes sense, sorry if it doesn't lol
