I need help on how to figure out this question! A track coach made a two way table to show his runners gender and running catego

ry. Male: Sprints- 16 Middle distance- 11 Long distance- 9 Female: Sprints- 12 Middle distance- 14 Long distance- 5 To the nearest hundredth, what is the probability that a randomly chosen female runs sprints? This obviously says that order doesn't matter as they mention "randomly chosen". I am just having trouble figuring out how to solve this.

Answer: Approx 0.39 will be the required probability.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here,Number of,

Male: Sprints=16, Middle distance=11, Long distance= 9

So, total males=36

And, Female: Sprints= 12, Middle distance=14, Long distance=5

So, total females=31

Thus, If one female randomly chosen,

Then, The probability that female runs sprint= Number of females who run sprint / total number of females

⇒ The probability that female runs sprint=12/31= 0.38709677419≈0.39

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's use your example as a starting point. Determine whether the same number will divide each 10 and 65 evenly. In this case, the answer is yes, and the number is 5. 10/5 = 2, and 65/5 = 13. Thus, the fraction in lowest terms is 2/13.

From which set of dimensions could a triangle be constructed?
lutik1710 [3]
The longest side of the triangle has to be less than the sum of the two other sides.

A ⇒ 7 + 8 = 15
B ⇒ 8 + 5 < 14
C ⇒ 6 + 3 < 10
D ⇒ 2 + 6 > 7

The answer is D, because the longest side length (7) is shorter than the two other side lengths (2 and 6).
