The Europeans came to North Americas in search of wealth and widen their influence over world affairs. The Spanish were led by Christopher Columbus and were the first Europeans to explore North America. Around 1000 A.D. the Vikings sailed from the British Isles to Britain and established a colony in North America. The French people were the last ones to colonize North America.
