For me, cultural diversity determines a country's identity. It gives color and substance to what a country is made of and what its people embody. This applies to the works of the people in society like literature. The American identity is fluid over time since it depends on technology and the latest trends. People have to adapt. However, some deep roots would still remain as it is.

The American society is composed of an ethnical mix, with members of many nations which blend into one unique American identity, while keeping their authenticity.
