The art of coming to an agreement by mutual concession is called compromise

Basically, a compromise is when you want something and another person wants something and you can’t both have what you want because it clashes with your thing so you make a deal in which you get a smaller part of something good while conceding something else while the other person does the same thing and you reach an agreement

Pamphlets, books, and newspapers are public relations material

These are materials that are supposed to get a message throughout the public. In the case of pamphlets you use them for things like advertising or for political reasons, while books and newspapers reach people for other things such as explaining a problem, teaching them, presenting the latest news, or similar things

Carry on efforts to shape public opinion in order for government policies to be altered is pressure group

These are groups which gather around a cause and they pressure the government to react and change legislature regarding that cause. For example, environmentalist groups pressure the government to stop fracking or drilling for oil or to prevent things like deforestation or destruction of natural habitats, etc.

To determine the popularity of the individual as well as government you use public opinion polls

Public opinion polls are polls in which journalists conduct an investigation on the government or the president or an issue or anything similar if they want to find out what the sentiment of the public is in regards to that person or that issue. They are quite common when it comes to presidential elections because of predicting winners.

Acting in a biased manner; using prejudicial thinking is stereotyping

Stereotyping is when you start having generalizations about people or issues or things in general based on your previous experience with them. For example, if you see a migrant conducting a crime then you might become full of prejudice believing that all migrants are criminals while they are not and the person does not represent the entire group of people.

A  thorough cleaning out; a purifying is purging

<span>When you purge something that means that you want to remove things from it that are considered bad for it or to remove impurities. Purging happens commonly in things like chemistry but it can also happen as a bad thing in societies when the government purges political oponents for example if the government is tyrannical</span>

The Renaissance radically changed the way of life for millions of Europeans. Which change did you find the most significant?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

I would find that the most significant change in the Renaissance would be the art, not only because the art itself has inspired artists for generations, but because it is usually the first thing you think of when you hear the word. The Renaissance was an amazing time to be an artist because it was the revival of art, and was more open to free speech, political commentary, and overall just expression of the self. Most paintings and sculptures from this time period are also widely known by most people today, such as the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Michaelangelo's David, which are recognizable to almost anyone. These artists often used their art to express their religious beliefs, such as Michaelangelo's work, where he fit so many biblical references into the Sistine Chapel ceiling, and put up with the painful work not only for the commission, but because he felt it was his calling from God

What is one power the supreme court has over the judicial court
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

The President (Executive Branch) has the power to appoint US Supreme Court justices and other (Article III ) federal judges. subject to approval by the Senate. He can and does choose judges who subscribe to his own legal philosophy and so can possibly shape future court opinions. The judges serve for life and their stance on future cases is hard to predict in many cases.

The president can also grant pardons for federal offenses

One is the fact that the judicial branch needs the executive branch to enforce its decisions. As an example, when the Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional in Brown v. Bd. of Education of Topeka, it took the President's ordering the National Guard out to make some states abide by the ruling. The Judicial Branch has no way to enforce its decisions without the executive's co-operation.. Another is the fact that it is the executive branch that nominates the judges in the first place. As a practical matter, presidents nominate persons who share the same political beliefs they do. This has the effect of creating (or trying to create) a judicial branch that will interpret the Constitution the way that that president would like. Trouble is, once a Supreme Court Justice is confirmed, nothing can be done to force him or her to rule in a particular way. They are appointed with lifetime tenure on good behavior and their salaries cannot be diminished while they are in office.. And as to salaries, nothing says a president has to include raises for them in any budget he proposes.

The Executive branch gets to choose candidates for federal judgeships, including Supreme Court Justices. The President also has the power to pardon people convicted of federal offenses, Since the President controls the Department of Justice, he has some leeway in how laws are enforced.

Article II. Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom and independence, and every power, jurisdiction and right, which is not
Maslowich

Answer:

<em>The Social Contract principle states that man was naturally free, and lived without rules or order, but in order to protect their rights and properties government was created.</em> Under the Social Contract theory, government is only valid with the consent of people. This principle inspired the Founding Fathers and can be found under the Articles of Confederation and the Declaration of Independence.

<u>Thomas Jefferson reflected the Social Contract theory into the Declaration of Independence by stating that Britain's Crown had not fulfilled their duties as Government of the Colonies and that this was cause of separation. </u>(<em>"Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"</em>).

The Articles of Confederation reflected the Social Contract theory by <em>maintaining the sovereignty of states (Article I) </em>and creating a union where each state gave consent to the central government to use its power. <em>The idea of Article II that nine states had to agree so that the central government could act, is also a reflection of the social contract. </em>
