How does the death penalty violate the 8th amendment

It violates the 8th amendment because it is a cruel and unusual punishment. It is cruel to kill someone no matter how horrible the crime. It is showing people that if you do something the same will be done to you, it is an eye for an eye. I disagree with that type of justice completely.

The main thing is that they believed that there was not enough effort to enforce the legislation that guarantees their rights.  Firstly the desegregation was not enforced and many schools, especially, in the north were really segregated.  The blacks were also paid less and did not have equal access to mortgages.
