how can indirect lobbying activities be influential? they are needed to provide candidates to run in elections. emails and phone

calls are more effective ways to persuade elected officials. interest groups spend most of their money and time on them. they help gain support that increases membership and funds.

I think indirect lobbying focuses on raising awareness on a particular issue, with an intent of reaching the leg, and making a difference in decision-making..... hope this helps

A lot of it depended on the area where they lived in. If you lived in the north, you mostly wanted to sell lumber and probably fish because there was so much of it there. If you lived in the south, you had a much better climate and that means they could plant and use plantations. It all depended on the climate they had and if the land was good or not. They also mostly did fish everywhere because they were super close to water.
