Chlorophyll pigment is always green. Plant leaves and stems aren't always green because they have many pigments other than chlorophyll. Pigments are molecules that absorb specific colors of light and reflect other colors, depending on their chemical structure. The reflected colors are what give pigments their color.

How does the human brain store and retrieve memories?
krek1111 [17]

Answer: After consolidation, long-term memories are stored throughout the brain as groups of neurons that are primed to fire together in the same pattern that created the original experience, and each component of a memory is stored in the brain area that initiated it (e.g. groups of neurons in the visual cortex store a sight, neurons in the amygdala store the associated emotion, etc).

Sympathetic neurons stimulate vasoconstriction in the gi tract, while sympathetic neurons stimulate vasodilation in arterioles s
Anvisha [2.4K]

It is because of the different neurotransmitters and their receptors.

Sympathetic stimulation of arterioles in skeletal muscle is mediated by epinephrine acting on its β-adrenergic receptors.

Sympathetic stimulation   of vasoconstriction occurs as a result of activation of α-1 adrenergic receptors by norepinephrine released by post-ganglionic sympathetic neurons.

Why do birth control pills contain hormones?
Kipish [7]

Birth control pills contain mam-made forms of two hormones called Estrogen and Progestin. Both hormones prevent a woman's ovary from releasing an egg during her menstrual cycle. They do this by changing the levels of the natural hormones the body makes.
