If the word is very harsh such as “idiot, a*shole, b*tch, hate, etc” it can hurt other people’s feelings and can effect them in multiple ways. some ways are very negative such as self harm, depression, anxiety, very low self esteem, etc. words have a lot of effects on others depending on how they take it.
The line ¨Thy baited hook shall tangle me no more¨ because fish are beguiled or tricked into biting a hook with glittery lures or bait and that would be what the author is comparing love to
Pathos is emotional appeal. It appeals to the audiences emotions and allows them to connect with the text. An example is: “my life has killed the dream I dreamed”
