Explanation: The cell theory as we know it states that only cell give produce or give rise to more cells. John Needham was the first Greek Aristotle to propose the spontaneous generation which contradicts the cell theory by saying living cell arose or are produced from non living matter( frog from mud, maggot from rotten flesh). In his experiment, he poured a broth (a thick soup containing both plant and animal matter) into flask and heats it briefly, taking the assumptions that all the living organism in the broth were killed by the heat he applied. He then sealed the flask and left it for three days. After three days, he notices some cloudy substance inside the flask, he opened it and and with the help of a microscope notice some activities of microbes inside the flask. With this Needham concluded that life or living cell can be produce or created from non living matter.
