English

The only thing you need to do to identify the adverbial phrase in the sentence is to find an adverb or a characteristic which contains an adverb.  As you can see, here is  a characteristic made up by an adverb which I have highlighted:  <span>The studious Andrea will go to the store after she finishes her homework. So, the correct answer is definitely  ''</span><span>The studious Andrea''.</span>

The whole question is completely wrong - there is no adverbial phrase in this sentence, since a phrase cannot contain a finite verb in itself. What you are looking for is an adverbial clause, and thus the correct answer is after she finishes her homework, because it acts as an adverb - it answers a question when something is going to happen.
The studious Andrea is a noun phrase, will go is a verb phrase, and her homework is also a noun phrase.

Selections must be from Unit 1: William Bradford (U1L2), Anne Bradstreet (U1L4), Phillis Wheatley (U1L4), Jonathan Edwards (U1L5
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

William Bradford.

Anne Bradstreet.

Explanation:

Excerpt written by Willian Bradford, in the poem "A word to New England":

<em>"Oh New England, you can not boast; </em>

<em>Thy former glory thou hast lost. </em>

<em>When H00ker, Winthrop, Cotton died, </em>

<em>And many precious ones beside, </em>

<em>Thy beauty then it did decay, </em>

<em>And still doth languish more away. "</em>

William Bradford was one of the first American writers, being one of the most important in the literary production and in the general history of the country. He was a Puritan, served as governor of the Plymouth colony and is the author of the most important account of English colonists and the difficulties they faced on the new continent.

Excerpt written by Anne Bradstreet, in the poem "Upon a Fit of Sickness":

<em>"Bubble blast, how long can'st last? </em>

<em>That always art a breaking, </em>

<em>No sooner blown, but dead and gone, </em>

<em>Ev'n as a word that's speaking. </em>

<em>The whil'st I live, this grace me give, </em>

<em>I doing good may be, </em>

<em>Then death's arrest I shall count best, </em>

<em>because it's thy decree. "</em>

Anne Bradstreet is recognized as the first poet within the territory where the USA is today. She never went to school, but she learned to read and write with her father who was instrumental in her education and one of the main responsible for her ability. She was also a Puritan, but she was not well regarded by other Puritans for displaying behavior considered wrong for that society, such as a woman writing and showing love for her husband.

The parentheses portion of the sentence is a ?
djyliett [7]

Answer: C. an independent clause (A. a coordinating conjunction) Explanation: Although nothing is underlined, I think the question stiil can be answered. But first, a quick revision. Independent clause is the one that conveys a complete thought and contains enough information to stand on its own. On the othet hand, dependent clause can only express a meaning if it is linked to an independent clause via the subordinating conjunction. In our sentence, both clauses, "The harsh wind scoured the scant remaining leaves from the trees" and "A desolate landscape remained in its wake" are independent clauses and as such they are linked together via a coordinating conjunction "and". So, if any of these two clauses is underlined then the correct answer is "independent clause". However, if the conjunction "and" is underlined, then the answer is "coordinating conjunction".

What does probability have to do with heredity?
navik [9.2K]
The concept of heredity is that genes are not randomly passed down. Well, technically they are but we use punett squares to predict the chances of passing certain traits. Because virtually all traits that are dominant are more common than recessive ones, and because all genes are not passed in a completely random way, it is not just pure chance, but calculated chance by which we can predict the probability of what genes are passed down. Hope this helps!
